FLY A TAIL DRAGGER AT DENHAM OR ELSTREE: for PPL holders only

A TASTE OF REAL FLYING!

Cabair Are delighted to offer a CITABRIA aircraft G-BLHS for hire at Denham or London School of Flying. It will be available for TAILWHEEL INTRODUCTION & TRAINING and is an exciting addition to our fleet.

The term “taildragger” is firmly rooted in aviation folklore and is affectionately used to describe airplanes with a tailwheel. Although a minor difference to most aircraft flown at our flying schools, there are huge differences in the way the aircraft handles - particularly during takeoff, landing, and taxiing. Flying a tail-dragger is both exciting and rewarding.

At selected Flying Schools we will be organizing INTRODUCTORY DAYS offering a two-hour INTRODUCTORY COURSE for £170 inc vat which will include an hour flying G-BLHS plus:

• BRIEFING: A short explaination of the differences between nose-wheel and tail-wheel operation
• TAXYING techniques
• TAKE-OFF techniques
• GENERAL HANDLING including ADVERSE YAW effects
• LANDING TECHNIQUES and use of RUDDER
• WEIGHT,BALANCE & PERFORMANCE, including aircraft limitations

Upon successful completion of the INTRODUCTORY COURSE, we believe you will be well and truly bitten by the bug! Then you can take on a TEN HOUR TAILWHEEL COURSE which will lead to SOLO CONSOLIDATION and AIRCRAFT HIRE at any of our flying schools for those suitably qualified pilots.
